The Denis Lawton Memorial Trophy remained at East Preston following an impressive victory over a youthful and mixed Croydon Athletic side. It was an entertaining match, with both teams playing some excellent football throughout. Goals from Oni Murubanguwah, Elliot Millman, and Shem Jones secured a well-deserved win for East Preston. Before kick-off, a minute's silence was impeccably observed in front of a good crowd, paying tribute to Denis, who sadly passed away last year. The trophy was presented by Eileen Lawton, with several members of the Lawton family in attendance, making it a fitting and heartfelt occasion to celebrate the life and memory of our dear friend and colleague. Denis would have loved the day. Rest in peace, Denis.
